LIDDELL: DON’T ASK ME ABOUT CONOR MCGREGOR

Since beginning his tenure with the UFC, Jose Aldo hasn’t faced a lot of bad nights.

However, the worse was in 2015 against Conor McGregor where he suffered a 13-second knockout.

First, it was a feud between Aldo and McGregor that lasted for almost a year. On more than one occasion, a worldwide media tour turned quite volatile.

What followed next was a punch from McGregor which ensured that Aldo’s seven time defending featherweight title streak came to a crashing halt. That particular punch was the one that handed him his first loss in more than a decade.

Ever since then and to no avail, the Brazilian has done everything possible to book a rematch with McGregor. Whenever a microphone is placed in front of his face, Aldo still can’t escape questions about him.

Jose Aldo says McGregor doesn’t deserve title shot

Ultimate Fighting Championship or the UFC Featherweight champion Jose Aldo has said that he believes his next challenger Conor McGregor is undeserving of a shot at the title, adding that there is absolutely no purpose to the ranking system in the sport.

Aldo is preparing to take on the Irishman at UFC 189 in what is going to be his eighth defence of the title in July in a match that many believe will not be the cakewalk that the Brazilian is used to.

McGregor has not held his punches back as he has already claimed to rip the head right off the Brazilian and the champion has also responded with his own brand of trash talking, increasing the hype ahead of the mouth watering contest. Ranked as the third highest Featherweight in the promotion, The Notorious is not deserving of a title shot, according to Jose Aldo. Read more »

Jose Aldo Versus Mendes

October 25th will be remembered for the main fight of UFC 179. It was between Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes. Challenges were thrown in and it was a first of first for Aldo. It was a stark contrast in terms of Chad Mendes after their first meeting in 2012. The improvements made by him were something spectacular. It was knockout in every round. There was clear animosity as well as respect towards the game that was visible clearly.

The atmosphere in Rio de Janeiro was spectacular. Mendes told ESPN that he gave it his all in the match. It is something great when the two are in the ring and straight cut out is what occurs. He eventually gave Aldo a hug after the fight. It was crazy as they are opponents like any other and are unaware of each other’s personal lives. Read more »
