A fight at the UFC 209 which would have been the biggest fight of his career for an interim lightweight title was missed out on by Tony Ferguson after the undefeated KhabibNurmagomedov pulled out of the game.
This however has not been enough to break the fighting spirit of the Californian as he looks forward to his next match. Following the disappointment, he was offered a replacement fight to go into the cage against Michael Johnson, but the smaller pay package the UFC offered him and the fact that the title had been scrapped, made him turn down the fight.
Nurmagomedovfondly known as ‘The Eagle’ was forced to pull out of the title bout with Ferguson after he was hospitalized due to weight cutting issues.

Ultimate Fighting Championship or the UFC Featherweight champion Jose Aldo has said that he believes his next challenger Conor McGregor is undeserving of a shot at the title, adding that there is absolutely no purpose to the ranking system in the sport.
Aldo is preparing to take on the Irishman at UFC 189 in what is going to be his eighth defence of the title in July in a match that many believe will not be the cakewalk that the Brazilian is used to.
McGregor has not held his punches back as he has already claimed to rip the head right off the Brazilian and the champion has also responded with his own brand of trash talking, increasing the hype ahead of the mouth watering contest. October 25th will be remembered for the main fight of UFC 179. It was between Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes. Challenges were thrown in and it was a first of first for Aldo. It was a stark contrast in terms of Chad Mendes after their first meeting in 2012. The improvements made by him were something spectacular. It was knockout in every round. There was clear animosity as well as respect towards the game that was visible clearly.
The atmosphere in Rio de Janeiro was spectacular. Mendes told ESPN that he gave it his all in the match. It is something great when the two are in the ring and straight cut out is what occurs.
